Soldiers loyal to President Museveni have barred people, including the US ambassador to Uganda, from seeing Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine, the Ugandan presidential candidate in the just concluded presidential election, has cried out that he and his family have been held captive by the Ugandan military for five days now, ostensibly on the orders of President Museveni.
Furthermore, he stated that every effort by his supporters to meet with him has proved abortive, as the soldiers have been instructed not to allow anyone come in or go out.
Interestingly, even the US ambassador to Uganda was also barred from seeing him. In his words, “This afternoon, the US ambassador to Uganda made an effort to visit me but was turned away from my gate by the soldiers who have held me and my wife captive for the last five days.” He concluded.
