Odion Ighalo has confirmed his exit from Manchester United. He made a touching farewell message on his Instagram Page where he appreciated everyone in helping him achieve his dream.
His loan spell came to an end, and he will be returning to his parent club Shanghai Shenhua. However, there are indicators that he might be negotiating for a move to the United States to play in Major League Soccer.
His role at United came to an abrupt stop after the arrival of Edinson Cavani. During his United career, he played 19 games where he scored five goals; he started in only seven games, which included his thumping strike against LASK and a brace against Derby County in the FA Cup.
According to him, “It’s so hard to see this dream come to an end. But I give God the glory for helping me fulfill this lifelong dream of putting on a Manchester United shirt as a player and represent this great club. It was indeed an honour I will forever cherish and be grateful for.”
Despite his lack of playing time, he showed his appreciation to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the opportunity. Ighalo said, “To the manager, I say thank you for trusting and believing in me when many did not.”
Indeed, it was a dream actualized. We do like to know about your memorable moment during his career at Manchester United.
