The leadership of the National Union Of Rivers State Students, Rivers State University Chapter, Nkpolu Oroworukwo Port Harcourt, Rivers State, recently paid a courtesy visit to Prince Kelvin Ekelechukwu Umejuru,M CEO Saccap Coyard Icarus Nigeria Limited, and also presented him with an award of honour.
During the award presentation which took place in his office in Port Harcourt, the youths expressed appreciation to Umejuru for his contribution to youth and students development.
The delegation was led by the president of NURSS RSU Chapter, Comrade. Bekee Baridubari and assisted by the PRO of the Union, Comrade Ogbowu Emmanuel, who outlined the numerous good deeds of Prince Kelvin Ekelechukwu Umejuru in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area, Rivers State and the Niger Delta, which prompted his nomination for the award.
Speaking at the occasion, the President of the Union, Comrade Bekee Baridubari, also said that the philanthropic gestures of Prince Kelvin Ekelechukwu Umejuru is not new as both old and young in all spheres of society has affirmed to that, and they include;
• Scholarship Scheme
• Financial grants to students
• Employment
• Financial support to Students of the Nigerian Law School
• And finally the building of an ultra modern 4 bedroom apartment to an elderly man who was rendered homeless due to disaster in his community, Idu Obosiukwu in ONELGA .
Reacting to the award, Prince Kelvin Ekelechukwu Umejuru, who a few months ago bagged an international award from Smart News Network and Ingenious Africa,Ghana, thanked the students for their recognition and also promised to support the students in every positive way. He further advised that the students should as well give back to the society in a positive manner as they are leaders of tomorrow.
Umejuru also made a clarion call to the government of the day to support the students in making their stay in school comfortable and memorable. He reiterated his support for the students community, and promised to support the students in every way possible.
And the students in turn were happy and thanked him for giving them a listening ear and an opportunity to thank him.
