As narrated by Tessy Emmanuel
A young lady has taken to social media to narrate her entrepreneurial journey. While some students were using the lockdown period to fool around and engage in frivolities, this young lady used it to raise money for her academic pursuits.
In her words: “It all started during the lockdown. I started hawking crayfish in the market. I later realized that we( sellers of crayfish) were much, and selling all in a day was always stressful. I checked my environment and I realized it was season for corn, and no one was selling it in my environment.
“I went to the market and bought many fresh corn, and in the evening ,I started roasting them. And it was not up to an hour, I sold them off, and I made much profit. I was hoping that school will resume then so I can use the money and start selling fairly used clothes to students on campus.
“So when the season of corn was over, and school still didn’t resume, I started selling bole (roasted yam, plantain, potatoes, and fish) which I’m still selling till date, and it’s really helpful. And i’m saving the small profit I’m making in order to use it for my school fees.”
I believe that industrious and hardworking youths such as Tessy deserve all the assistance they can get inorder to enable them achieve their goals in life.
