COVID-19: Man Shares Experience After Taking Vaccine

Barr Azubuike Ihemeje  Esq, has come out to share his experience after taking the covid19 vaccine in Rivers state, Nigeria.

In a post he published on his facebook wall, the erudite writer and human rights activist wrote:

“I remember back in 2012, when the federal government commenced the registration of the National Identity Number (NIN), very few Nigeria people took it serious.

You could literally walk into any of their Centers and get registered within minutes.

I’m glad I got mine done then, before the crazy rush, and madness we recently saw, began.

I do not entirely blame Nigerians for their cynicism and doubts, towards these policies.

For a people that have witnessed more than enough policy summersaults, disappointments and prevarications, it’s therefore, understandable for them to feel some kind of distrust with the system.

Besides, we did one NIN registration in 1999.

My attitude towards these uncertainties has always been;

Obey fesss. Let it be they’re the ones that failed themselves, and NOT me.

Today, they’ve started to dispense Covid vaccines.

I know, lots of us have different misgivings already.

I also know, that because it’s not palliatives, there’s absolutely no sense of urgency in us.

Most of us are averse to these things that eyes can not really see, neither can mouth partake of.

Hence, there’s absolutely no reason to rush.
The available vaccines are few, in comparison with the number of population here.

Yet many Nigerians are disinterested.

But wait ooh.

What if they wake up one morning to hear that the policy on vaccination is now mandatory?

Mandatory for every single person to appear in any public place.

Plus, the vaccines are quite limited.
It can’t even go round 10% of the myriad of crowds here.

Come see mad rush na!
In fact people will be willing to pay just anything to get it then.

I’m just thinking aloud.

But given our previous experiences, and immediate precedence on NIN, it’s not unlikely to witness a repeat.

It was due this particular reasons, and of course the health preventive measures, that compelled me, to obtain the first jab of the COVID vaccines.

Let no one lie to you, that it was so sweet that you won’t even feel anything.

It is injection. It has needle.
It pierces into your flesh and blood.
You’re a human, and still alive.

E go pain you small, but not too much, nor last beyond your endurance.

It’s like normal injections.

It takes only a bandit or their equivalent hoodlum,
Not to feel little pains like this”, he playfully concluded.
