Bonny Gentlemen’s League, a frontline socio-cultural organisation of Grand Bonny Kingdom has endorsed the candidacy of Amaopusenibo Barr. Torudoghubo Dienye Jamaica, for the office of National Organizing Secretary of Ijaw National Congress (INC).
In a statement issued after its weekly executive session, the League stated that the organization is supremely confident that Barr. Jamaica’s dynamism and vast wealth of experience in education, culture, law, advocacy, community and national affairs, etc, would bring about far reaching policy initiatives that will positively impact on the INC’s service delivery.
The aspirant who is Chancellor emeritus, Chairman PLANCOM 40 and Chairman, Current and National Affairs of the League, gave reasons why he is best suited for the post of the National Organizing Secretary of the apex organization.
Barr Jamaica, the 64 year old Grand Bonny born legal luminary, said he has a lot of experience to contribute towards the upliftment and progress of the organization.
In his words, “I believe that with my years of experience and participation in the activities of the INC and other Ijaw organizations, I will bring to bear those experiences on the INC if elected as the Organizing Secretary. I have so many scholarly publications on Ijaw(Bonny) related matters in my favour.”
Barr Jamaica, an elder of the Ibani clan, was also an adviser to the late Ama-Opu-Senibo Sir, Dr. T A T Allison during his Chairmanship of the National Representative Council.
He is the Director of Research and Publications of the Bonny Kingdom Study Group(BKSG), the head of Contact and Mobilization of The Grand Bonny Initiative (TGBI), the Chairman of Current Affairs Commitee of The Bonny Gentlemen’s League, the Chairman of Bonny Lawyers’ Forum(BLF), and the Secretary Disciplinary of Nigerian Bar Association, Port Harcourt branch.
He has to his credit, some sterling academic qualifications that set him apart from his contemporaries, some of which include:

Indeed, with his antecedents both as a legal luminary, and as a dedicated Bonny indigene, there is no doubt that with him as the Organizing Secretary of the Ijaw National Congress, the Ijaw Nation will be greater than ever.
