A businessman of international repute, Prince Kelvin Ekelechukwu Umejuru, has stated emphatically and convincingly that the All Progressives Congress( APC) is taking over Rivers state, come 2023.
This he said while granting interview to news men in his office in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
According to him, “Rivers state is ripe and ready for the APC, come 2023. We are taking over.”
Speaking further, the award-winning philanthropist spoke on who the next governor of the state should be. Without equivocation, he stated that the next Rivers governor should be from the Riverine part of the state, which includes Andoni, Bonny, ONELGA, etc.
The astute business mogul also went ahead to pledge allegiance to his leader, the Rt. Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, while also calling on all and sundry to throw their weight behind the Minister.
He passionately spoke on the dividends of democracy that Amaechi brought to the state as governor, remarking that the present PDP administration in the state has achieved nothing compared to what Amaechi achieved.
“Rt. Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi achieved a lot as the governor of Rivers state. He touched on Infrastructure, Human capacity building, Education, and Health, amongst others. But the current administration is only focused on building roads. Of what use are fine roads when people are hungry and suffering?”
When asked about his political ambitions, Prince Ekele who recently bagged an International Humanitarian Award, said the question would be answered at a due time, because he hasn’t really given it a thought. “I love politics. I love financing and supporting some projects and some people. But I haven’t really given it a serious thought to join politics, even though some persons have been trying to convince me to go into politics. Anyways, at the right time, you will get an answer to that question”, he concluded
